Sustainability Software Radar for Swiss companies
Swisscom and Atlantic Ventures provide an overview of sustainability and carbon management software solutions: The Sustainability Software Radar highlights market developments and trends. And it supports ESG managers and CIOs in selecting tools. It thus helps Swiss companies to implement holistic and data-supported sustainability and carbon management.

More than 1,700 companies operating in Switzerland will be obliged to provide comprehensive sustainability reporting in future. For companies with more than 500 employees and a balance sheet total of over CHF 20 million or a turnover of over CHF 40 million, climate reporting in accordance with the TCFD standard is already mandatory from this year. The CO2 footprint is thus becoming an important key figure in corporate management. The preparation of the carbon footprint must be auditable and also include the planning, management and implementation of suitable decarbonization measures as part of net zero management. In practice, many companies find it difficult to record, measure and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions on the basis of data. The basis for data-supported sustainability and carbon management is sustainability software.
Market overview: Start-ups as innovation drivers for data-based carbon reporting
To give companies an overview of the extensive software landscape, Swisscom and Atlantic Ventures have created a market overview. The Sustainability Software Radar analyzes over 240 software providers and their solutions. The report gives ESG managers and CIOs an insight into the dynamic development of the market and creates transparency about the range of products on offer. In addition to the established ESG software providers and global software and cloud companies, start-ups and young software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies play a central role. Over half of the providers surveyed were founded after 2015 and are a driver of innovation for cloud- and data-based carbon reporting and sustainability management.
Latest software generations: cloud-native, APIs for system integration and AI models
Solutions that cover carbon and ESG management along the entire value and supply chain are emerging as a trend. This will enable companies to meet the future regulatory obligation to also disclose upstream and downstream emissions. The new generation of climate and sustainability management solutions relies on cloud-native software architectures, flexible data models, APIs for system integration and AI models for simulating CO2 reduction paths. Gina Obrecht, Business Developer Data Driven Sustainability at Swisscom Business Customers, says: "Digitalization and data-driven business are key elements on the path to net zero. That's why we support customers in evaluating suitable tools and integrating them into existing IT systems."
