Sharedmobility.ch shows locations and availability in real time
The new interactive application www.sharedmobility.ch shows the availability and locations of shared mobility vehicles in Switzerland in real time. The data can be integrated by mobility providers into their own systems and apps free of charge.
Shared mobility is the common, shared use of means of transport such as cars, bicycles, e-bikes, scooters or e-scooters. These are no longer seen as individual, but rather as common possessions that can be accessed as needed. In this way, mobility becomes a service. The central and neutral platform www.sharedmobility.ch is intended to support the further spread of shared mobility, according to the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE), which operates the platform together with the SwissEnergy program and shared mobility providers.
Mobility providers can use data
The platform is fed via real-time interfaces to the sharing providers. According to the SFOE, mobility providers can use this data in their own apps without having to agree on a separate data interface with each sharing provider. According to the SFOE, the data can be used for multimodal route planners by public transport providers, for example. They can be used as open data under the "O-By" usage license. This means that they can be used freely, provided that the source is indicated.
More shared mobility providers to join in
Currently, www.sharedmobility.ch shows the availability and locations of the following shared mobility providers: AirBie, Bird, BOND, Carvelo2go, Donkey Republic, edrive carsharing, Mobility, Nextbike, Pick-e-Bike, PubliBike, Rent a Bike, TIER, VOI and Zisch.
Other interested shared mobility providers can join on an ongoing basis (see below for contact details). The goal is to make all offers in Switzerland available on the platform as quickly as possible.
