REMforum 2018 is more than an impulse generator for energy insiders. Over the last two decades, the energy system has shifted from centralized infrastructure towards decentralization. While renewable energy is offered both centrally (e.g. large hydropower or offshore wind) and decentrally (e.g. photovoltaics), recent technological trends show stronger, global distribution trends of energy.

The convergence of small-scale energy conversion and storage with electromobility and digital technology is forcing energy systems with a high degree of local autonomy. This creates opportunities for new business models for self-consumption and peer-to-peer renewable energy trading, but also challenges the current institutional framework of energy markets.

At #REMforum 2018, the 9th St.Gallen Renewable Energy Management Forum, the thought leaders of tomorrow's energy markets will share the latest insights and discuss new business opportunities. This unique annual event connects managers, investors and other key players in the global energy transition and offers inspiring speakers, insightful debates, interactive workshops and extensive networking opportunities. The "#REMforum" is hosted by the Chair of Renewable Energy Management hosted at the University of St.Gallen, one of Europe's leading business schools.

The 9th St. Gallen Forum for Renewable Energy Management ("Disruptive Decentralization? Energy Markets at a Crossroads" will take place from May 31 to June 1, 2018 in St. Gallen.
