Baggenstos celebrates 100 years of success
The A. Baggenstos & Co. AG is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The company, which started out as a small typewriter repair workshop in Zurich in 1925, has developed into an innovative provider of cloud and managed services. Baggenstos can look back with pride on a century of history characterized by progress, change and consistency.

The success story began when August Baggenstos opened a typewriter repair workshop in the basement of Auf der Maur No. 5 in Zurich in 1925. By the 1950s, the company had already sold over 80,000 typewriters of the Swiss Hermes brand and had three locations in the city of Zurich.
The PC era at Baggenstos began in 1984 when Thomas Baggenstos, the founder's son, joined the company. This was followed by a period of rapid growth and the move to Wallisellen. The company relied on PCs from IBM, Compaq and later HP and expanded its portfolio to include server and IT infrastructure solutions.
The focus on the partnership with Microsoft began with the acquisition of Netcom in 2008. Under the leadership of CEO Michael Kistler, Baggenstos concentrates on innovative solutions in the area of cloud and managed services in order to meet modern market requirements.
"Our 100th anniversary is a moment of pride and gratitude," says Chairman of the Board Thomas Baggenstos. "We would like to thank our customers for their many years of trust and our employees for their commitment and passion, which have accompanied us all these years."
A look into the future
With a clear focus on digital innovation and a strong heritage as a foundation, Baggenstos is ideally equipped to continue its success in the decades to come. The anniversary celebrations are not only an opportunity to honor the past, but also to look to the future.
