It was an evening full of glamour and recognition when the Pestalozzi Group and its subsidiary Gabs AG awarded the Pestalozzi Stiftepriis 2024 for the 42nd time on Friday, 8 November. The impressive event hall JED Events in Schlieren ZH provided the perfect setting to honor the 110 young Swiss-German talents from the fields of building technology and envelopes as well as metal construction and processing.

For over 40 years, the best apprentices of their year in the Pestalozzi Group's sectors have been awarded the popular Stiftepriis. This year's winners include polymechanic Dominic Brügger from Reichenberg BE, tinsmith Ricco Weber from Schwarzenburg BE and design engineer Tobias Juchli from Kaiseraugst AG, all three of whom achieved a final grade of 5.9. But all the other prizewinners, who were able to impress with average grades of 5.1 and above, also had every reason to celebrate and received an award and an Ultimate Ears Boom 3 Bluetooth speaker as prizes.

An evening to remember

Matthias Pestalozzi, owner and Delegate of the Board of Directors of the Pestalozzi Group, confidently addressed the audience at Schliermer JED Events and personally congratulated all the winners. "We are not only honoring outstanding achievements, but also proudly supporting the future of our industry," he emphasized, underscoring the importance that the Pestalozzi Group attaches to promoting young talent. But the awards ceremony was not the only glittering event: the comedy duo Lapsus made the audience laugh with an entertaining show, while a tasteful dinner rounded off the festive evening.

Motivation thanks to appreciation

The Pestalozzi Stiftepriis is not only intended to recognize the best graduates of their year, but also to promote and strengthen the respective industries and vocational training. The Stiftepriis is also a welcome motivational boost for vocational trainers. David Kiener, vocational trainer in tinsmithing at Bern Technical College, says: "The Stiftepriis has always been a great thing and definitely an additional motivation to complete a good qualification procedure (QV) and to be recognized."

Promoting young talent that works

The Pestalozzi Group is also strongly committed internally: Every year, around a dozen apprentices start their training in various professional fields within the company - from commercial and road transportation to logistics. On Friday, November 22, the Prix Apprentissage will be awarded in Lausanne to the best apprenticeship graduates in French-speaking Switzerland.
