Key challenges in various industries were also discussed, in particular how companies can transform their business into the cloud and what role "Rise with SAP" plays in a successful transformation. On the second day of the Future Arena, the Community Day, technology experts met at the T-Systems Switzerland headquarters in Zollikofen for an in-depth discussion.

Artificial intelligence as a driver of innovation

Why AI is becoming indispensable for business, politics and society - this was the central topic that participants addressed in numerous presentations and discussion rounds. Particular emphasis was placed on how companies can benefit from the integration of these technologies and what concrete steps are necessary to successfully shape technological change. AI plays a key role in the transformation of business processes, in automation and in the creation of new business potential. For the economy, AI means increased efficiency and new business models, for politics it opens up opportunities in digital administration, and for society it offers solutions in areas such as health, mobility and education. Companies that invest in AI at an early stage thus secure a decisive competitive advantage.

In his presentation on artificial intelligence, Dr. Ferri Abolhassan, CEO of T-Systems International and member of the Deutsche Telekom Board of Management, pointed out the potential that AI will unfold. "It's always about developing concrete solutions for customers and industries," emphasized Abolhassan. The hype is enormous, but the central question is always: how can users and companies benefit from AI in concrete terms? T-Systems is focusing on this.

Prof. Dr. Jana Koehler, Co-Head of the AI Robotics Research Lab at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, highlighted three main issues in artificial intelligence: intellectual property, resource consumption and economic efficiency. These three main issues are crucial in the development and application of artificial intelligence in every company. "In the end, it's the quality of the application that counts," said Koehler, emphasizing: "When implementing AI applications, only 10 percent is AI. The remaining 90 percent is data, infrastructure and connectivity, as well as a coherent business model."

 In-depth knowledge in workshops

"Artificial intelligence will fundamentally change business processes and - if used correctly - will develop enormous potential in a wide range of industries such as banking and insurance, healthcare, transportation and logistics, as well as in public administration," said Thomas Reitze, Managing Director of T-Systems Switzerland, with conviction.

In 18 in-depth breakout sessions, industry-specific key issues of the future were addressed. These included the development of secure and data protection-compliant AI solutions with T-Systems AI Foundation Services, artificial intelligence in diagnostics and therapy, and digital administrative processes. Visitors were also able to gain a broad overview of strategies for defending against cyberattacks, quantum computing as a revolution for financial institutions and the potential of immersive metaverse technology.
