Champions League of vocational training
Over 1,500 young talents from 65 nations will be competing against their professional colleagues in exciting competitions at WorldSkills 2024 in Lyon from September 10 to 15 and demonstrating their combined skills. Whether floristry, cyber security, welding, metal construction, clothing design or hotel reception - a total of 59 different competitions will take place. And the Swiss national vocational team will be right in the middle of it all. The 45 young talents will be competing in 41 skills competitions. This makes it the largest delegation ever to take part in WorldSkills. They will be supported by 42 experts.
Ready for the competition of a lifetime
The talents qualified at the central SwissSkills vocational championships. Over the past few months, each participant has undergone around 1,000 hours of meticulous preparation with the great support of their experts, professional associations, employers and team leaders. This preparation program is framed by several joint training weekends - such as the recent one in Nottwil, Lucerne. In addition to competition-specific tasks, team building, physical and mental aspects and dealing with the media are also trained. All this in order to be ready for the competition of a lifetime on September 10.
Switzerland is counting on medals
The excellent results of the past have once again set the bar and their own expectations very high for the 45 members of the Swiss national squad. In Lyon, they will do everything in their power to continue this success story. It is becoming apparent that representatives of the federal government will also be cheering on the Swiss delegation in Lyon. A strong sign of appreciation for the achievements of the young professionals.
