Family Business Award 2024: Family businesses can apply now
Every year, the Family Business Award honors a Swiss family business that distinguishes itself through responsible action and value-oriented, sustainable entrepreneurship. Interested family businesses can apply for the award from today until May 15, 2024.
From today until May 15, 2024, companies can apply for the Family Business Award on the online platform. The award is open to Swiss family businesses that are characterized by a sustainable entrepreneurial spirit and employ more than 25 people. In addition, there must have been at least one generational change, the chairmanship of the board of directors or the operational management must be held by a family member and the majority of the capital must be owned by the family.
About the Family Business Award
Since 2012, AMAG has donated the Family Business Award in memory of company founder Walter Haefner to recognize particularly entrepreneurial and sustainable family businesses. The award is intended to highlight the mindset, values and commitment of family businesses and emphasize their importance for the Swiss economy. Family businesses make a decisive contribution to the country's high level of prosperity. Around 90% of all companies in Switzerland are family businesses.
The assessment procedure
The winning company is selected by a high-caliber jury consisting of experienced, highly qualified personalities. The judging process was developed by the Center for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability CCRS at the School of Management Fribourg (HES-SO). This scientific procedure provides the basis for an objective assessment of the applicants by the independent jury.
