Hostpoint continues its growth trajectory in 2023

In 2023, Hostpoint succeeded in continuing its strong growth trajectory of recent years. For the first time, sales of more than CHF 30 million were achieved. The successful market launch of the new e-mail offering confirms the strategic direction of the Rapperswil-based provider.

In a market environment that is currently in a state of flux due to various influencing factors, Hostpoint once again achieved a very good annual result in 2023. With growth of 8.5% and annual sales of CHF 32 million, Switzerland's largest web hosting provider once again succeeded in gaining significant market share and growing in all business areas.

After Hostpoint managed more than one million domain names for the first time in the previous year, this business area continued to grow significantly in 2023. With growth of more than 11%, Switzerland's leading domain registrar now manages more than 1.1 million domains. Hostpoint is also experiencing stable growth in other business areas such as web hosting, managed servers and email hosting.

Successful launch of a new e-mail service

Last year, the email segment was particularly important with the launch of "Email & Cloud Office" in January 2023. With the introduction of the comprehensive e-mail offering, which is completely decoupled from web hosting and includes various office and team functions, Hostpoint was once again able to tap into completely new customer groups in the e-mail sector. With this solution for digital collaboration, customers appreciate Hostpoint's 7-day support in addition to the data location in Switzerland. This combination of security and customer focus sets Hostpoint apart from the international competition with E-Mail & Cloud Office.

"We are extremely satisfied with the market launch of E-Mail & Cloud Office. The number of users in the first year has exceeded our expectations," explains Yvan Knapp, Chief Strategy Officer at Hostpoint.

In a changing market environment, Hostpoint is said to be on a very good course. While some local competitors have been taken over by foreign investors in recent years or have ceased operations completely, the Rapperswil-based provider has managed to grow continuously. As the leading Swiss provider for domains, web hosting, websites and e-mail, Hostpoint is also ideally positioned in terms of infrastructure, security and support to make it as easy as possible for customers of other providers who are willing to switch to Hostpoint.

Targeted reinforcements in the personnel area

In order to be optimally equipped for future product developments and day-to-day customer support, it is important for Hostpoint to grow organically in all relevant areas, including in terms of personnel. Last year, the Customer Care, Software Development and System Engineering & Operations teams were strengthened in a targeted manner and a number of key cross-divisional positions were created.

At the end of 2023, Hostpoint had a total of 97 employees, which corresponds to growth of almost 8% compared to the previous year. Further employees have joined the company since the turn of the year, meaning that Hostpoint now employs more than 100 people for the first time. In the last two years alone, the number of employees has grown by more than 30 percent.

High investments in infrastructure and security

As a leading hosting provider, Hostpoint not only stands for convincing products at attractive conditions, but also for the highest standards of performance and security. This is why Hostpoint invests millions of euros every year in the expansion, further development and optimization of its infrastructure and security.
