Generation change at SV Group

Patrick Camele will retire from the operational management of the SV Group at the end of October 2024 after 14 years - the last twelve of which as CEO of the Group. He has prudently guided the company through the coronavirus pandemic and secured the entrepreneurial future of the 110-year-old company.

Patrick Camele's successor as of November 1, 2024 will be Markus Binkert, currently CFO of Swiss International Airlines. "Markus Binkert is a perfect choice for us. He is a proven expert in the areas of operations, sales, marketing, product development and finance and will take over the management of the company. He also has a large network and is well established in the business world. The fact that Markus Binkert originally comes from the hotel industry is a stroke of luck for us," says Jörg Zulauf, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the SV Group. "On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank Patrick Camele for his great commitment to SV over many years. As a member of the Board of Directors, his knowledge and experience will remain with the company."

"I am very much looking forward to my new role at the SV Group and to developing the company further in close cooperation with the team and customers. As a former hotelier, hospitality is important to me and creating positive customer experiences is close to my heart. I am therefore delighted to be returning to the restaurant and hotel industry," says Markus Binkert.

Ideal time for the handover of staff

In 2023, the SV Group was able to close a financial year under the market conditions of the new normal for the first time after three years of the pandemic. "For over a hundred years, we have been offering our customers catering services that enable them to distinguish themselves as employers. Our concepts and culinary offerings are convincing, and our staff restaurants and canteens are important meeting places for informal interaction. This aspect is becoming increasingly important," says Patrick Camele. "With upcoming hotel openings of our own brand Stay KooooK in Geneva, Leipzig, Munich and Hamburg as well as projects at other secured locations in Germany and Switzerland, we are also well on track with our growth strategy in the hotel sector," says Camele. "The time is ripe for a generational change. I am delighted to be able to hand over the reins to Markus Binkert," he says.
