Swiss Mobile acquires largest Swiss provider of smartphone repairs

The Mobile Klinik, Fix Repair and Handy Doktor brands will be taken over by Swiss Mobile with immediate effect. The Dübendorf-based company will thus become Switzerland's largest provider of instant repairs for smartphones and tablets - with 32 locations and a workforce of around 70 employees.

"While industry giants such as Swisscom and mobilezone are closing their repair sites, we are focusing on direct contact with our customers. We offer reliable express repairs for smartphones and tablets," says Marijan Andelic, owner of Swiss Mobile. The telecommunications expert is taking over all 30 Mobile Klinik locations in Switzerland, which also includes the Fix Repair and Handy Doktor brands, with immediate effect.

The Mobile Klinik, Fix Repair and Handy Doktor brands will remain under the operational management of Marcel Dossenbach. At the same time, the company's offering is now aimed at both private customers and companies.

Customers don't want to lose any time

Data from the Mobile Clinic shows that around 75% of all smartphone repairs are carried out immediately on site. The remaining 25% have to be sent in or replaced. However, sending in or even replacing a smartphone involves a great deal of effort, explains Marcel Dossenbach, CEO of the Mobile Clinic. "At the same time, a new smartphone is much more expensive than a repair, the data transfer to a new device is laborious and the approximately one-week wait until a device is returned is inconvenient and out of date."

As part of the sustainability trend, smartphones are becoming more robust and are being used until the end of their maximum service life wherever possible. Express repairs on site are therefore in high demand. Against this backdrop, the closure of many repair locations of large service providers is surprising. The argument that this is in the interests of customers is even more so. Marijan Andelic is optimistic: "I visit our stores myself every week and know the needs of our customers. With the takeover of Mobile Klinik, we are exploiting business synergies and offering both private customers and companies comprehensive complete solutions in the telecommunications sector as well as express repairs at the highest level. We are already expecting an increase in sales of around 20 percent in the coming year."
