Growing Valais company Pharmalp will have two CEOs in future
Dorothée Sineux, co-founder and specialist in the marketing of nutritional supplements, and Séverin Ruoff, with experience in large international corporations and start-ups, including in growth development and finance, will be appointed Co-CEOs of Pharmalp from January 1, 2025.
Pharmalp, which was recognized as one of the 100 best start-ups in Switzerland right from the start, has become a dynamically growing SME in Valais in 12 years. Its co-founder and current CEO, Dr. Philippe Meuwly, will continue to serve as Delegate of the Board of Directors.
Food supplements with strong Swiss roots
Located at the foot of the Swiss Alps, Pharmalp uses its surroundings to innovate in research and development. The two complementary focus areas - phytotherapy and probiotics - are based on the same philosophy: preventive health in areas where existing solutions are suboptimal: Women's health, prevention of cardiovascular risks, management of the immune system and stress, and healthy growth of children.
Since its foundation in 2012, Pharmalp now markets 13 food supplements of natural origin that have been scientifically validated. They are sold in pharmacies, drugstores and via e-commerce platforms in Switzerland as well as in several export countries.
Sustainability and innovation, lived day by day for 12 years
Since its foundation in 2012, Pharmalp has placed social responsibility, organic and locality at the heart of its values. The Swiss partners for the production and harvesting of organic alpine plants and for logistics, the Polyval Foundation, guarantee high-quality local services. Numerous research projects, recognized and supported by Innosuisse, the Swiss innovation agency, and in Valais by the CCF and The Ark Foundation, are carried out in collaboration with Swiss universities and universities of applied sciences to develop innovative and differentiating products every year. For example, a first patent has been granted in the USA and the EU showing that a specific plant extract from small-flowered willowherb can prevent vaginal infections, and a second patent has been filed showing how selected plant extracts and chemically identified active ingredients extracted from them can prevent the recurrence of urinary tract infections.
Complementary skills for the development of export sales
The two Co-CEOs and the existing staff are specialized in the areas of science, regulation, quality, distribution and logistics and will enable Pharmalp to drive its growth with priority in Switzerland and Asia.
