ZHAW: 80 Master's degrees in Life Sciences awarded

38 women and 42 men celebrated their successful Master's degree in Life Sciences at the ZHAW in Wädenswil on May 3, 2024 at the Seedamm Plaza in Pfäffikon SZ.

The successful study program concludes with the internationally recognized title "Master of Science ZHAW in Life Sciences" and is supplemented by one of four possible specializations: Applied Computational Life Sciences, Chemistry for the Life Sciences, Food and Beverage Innovation or Pharmaceutical Biotechnology.

22 people specializing in Applied Computational Life Sciences (ACLS)
13 people with specialization in Chemistry for the Life Sciences (CLS)
14 people with specialization in Food and Beverage Innovation (FBI)
31 people specializing in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (PB)

Thomas Ott, Head of the Institute for Computational Life Sciences at the ZHAW, gave the keynote address. He referred to developments in the field of artificial intelligence and how we as a society can deal with the complexity of the world. In addition, the best overall performance in each specialization was awarded a prize - sponsored by Roche Diagnostics and the SVAN (Swiss Association for Applied Natural Sciences) and SVIAL (Swiss Association of Agronomists and Food Engineers).

The consecutive Master's degree program in Life Sciences at the ZHAW in Wädenswil teaches skills in scientific work, networked thinking as well as methodological and personal skills. Sound specialist knowledge and a high degree of practical relevance thanks to cooperation with private companies and public institutions are an important part of the course.
