With around 95,000 companies across Switzerland facing a succession issue in the next few years, the urgency of the topic continues to grow. (Image: www.depositphotos.com)

Entrepreneurs benefit from comprehensive expertise for their sustainability strategy and new succession models through the new cooperation partners Tfy and Purpose Switzerland. The cooperation with the small farmers' association gives farmers with training access to farms in the succession process. From May 2024, advisors in the succession environment will be able to deepen their knowledge in seminars on basic legal tools for succession, professional (succession) communication and the search for successors.

Sustainable - innovative - pragmatic

An effective and verifiable sustainability strategy is mandatory for almost every company today. The innovative SME Tfy supports companies in their future viability and thus also their succession capability with a simple, pragmatic offer ranging from as-is analysis to strategy development in the area of four-dimensional sustainability (ecology, social affairs, governance, economy).

Proven solutions for succession are becoming less and less effective, and alternative models are often little known. These include "steward ownership", for example. The experts at Purpose Switzerland offer interested entrepreneurs comprehensive information and advice on this topic and open up new options for implementing a suitable succession solution.

One way of countering the dwindling number of successors within families on farms is offered by the Small Farmers' Association with its contact point for non-family farm succession, which was founded in 2014. The digital farm platform that has now been launched will significantly simplify the search process for those looking for and giving up a farm. The CHDU supports this initiative, which addresses the specific challenges involved in handing over a farm. Handing over a farm is a major challenge both in agriculture and for SMEs.

Interdisciplinary further training for defined quality standards

With the intention of professionalizing succession consulting, the CHDU has developed a range of seminars for consultants in the succession environment in cooperation with EXPERTsuisse. In addition to the introductory seminar "Big Picture of Successful SME Succession", three in-depth seminars are now being offered. They will start on May 22 with the topic "(Legal) basic tools for succession planning", followed by "Acting entrepreneurially and communicating succession professionally" and "Succession hunting - for external and internal company transactions".

With around 95,000 companies across Switzerland facing an open succession in the next few years - and the trend is rising - the urgency of the issue continues to increase. More than enough motivation for the CHDU to get involved in this matter for entrepreneurs, advisors and the next generation in the long term.
