For the first competitive call for projects 2021 are at the office ProKilowatt received a total of 37 project bids, according to the company. Of the eligible projects, those with the best cost-benefit ratio, i.e. with the cheapest kilowatt hour saved, were awarded the contract. The funding for the first round amounts to 5.4 million Swiss francs for a total of 26 projects. This means that more than twice as many projects can be funded compared to the first round of submissions last year, as ProKilowatt emphasizes.

The thematic spectrum ranges from the energy-efficient refurbishment of a lighting system in an ice rink to the optimization of a refrigeration system in a hospital and efficiency improvements in the electrical drives of pumps in a chemical industry plant.

One-time increase in subsidies

To ensure that companies continue to implement electricity-saving measures despite the Covid 19 pandemic, more funding will be available for projects in 2021 than in previous years. This measure applies once for the three project entry rounds in 2021.

In addition, a more relaxed competitive selection process will be applied to projects in the three rounds of submissions in 2021. This would increase the chances of receiving a grant for a submitted project.

 Next Tender round already underway

Three project entry rounds will be carried out in the 2021 tender year. The submission deadline for the second project round recently ended. Applications for the third round of projects can be submitted until September 3, 2021 be submitted, as ProKilowatt emphasizes.
