SBU and RADIX cooperate in the name of nutrition
At the extraordinary general meeting of the Swiss Society for Nutrition SGE, the members of the association vote unanimously in favor of drawing up a cooperation agreement between the RADIX Health Foundation and the SGE.
The Swiss Society for Nutrition SBU has been generating a structural deficit since 2015. The liquidity of the SBU could no longer be guaranteed in the long term. For this reason, the board took action and convened an extraordinary general meeting on July 30, 2018. Three options were presented to those present as to how the SBU could continue:
1. liquidation of the SBU. All employees lose their jobs and the association's purpose can no longer be implemented.
2. the SBU is shrinking back to health under its own steam. A large part of the employees however, loses employment as a result. Thus, massively fewer resources are available Disposition. The purpose of the association can only be partially implemented.
3. the SBU will look for a partner for the office who will take over the operational management of the SBU. takes over. The association remains in existence and the purpose of the association can continue to be pursued. be
The SBU Board considers the third option to be the only viable way forward.
Longstanding partnership turns into cooperation
The RADIX Health Foundation had learned of the financial difficulties of the SBU and approached the president of the SBU in late spring. This gave rise to the idea that the RADIX Foundation could take over the management of the SBU office, but that the SBU association should continue to exist. The SBU's income would be used entirely to fulfill the association's purpose. "We have been working together with RADIX for many years in the field of nutrition as a professional partner. The opportunity for operational cooperation is an absolute stroke of luck for the SBU. It gives our office a team with leadership experience, and we can take advantage of synergies while expanding our network," explains Isabelle Herter, President of SBU. "This solution is a solid and promising one for the employees, members, patrons and partners of the SBU," says Isabelle Herter.
